Meet The Creator

Hi There,

My name is Tebby Burrows and I'm the founder of My True Reflection. As a storyteller, it has always been my dream to share stories that solidify the truth of human goodness and help to promote a world where love and compassion are our first instinct

As a woman of color, but even more so, as a human being, I know how important it is to consistently surround myself with positive messages. Messages that teach me how to love and live with confidence and vulnerability. I hope this deck of cards encourages important conversations between kids and the adults in their lives. I hope it inspires every child to be more confident in who they are; to celebrate themselves and each other no matter their gender, ethnicity, culture or beliefs.

In May of 2019, I became the first contestant to win NBC's Songland, where I had the privilege of working the amazing Shane McAnally to compete against amazing songwriters for a chance to have our song recorded by Grammy Award winning artist John Legend. John chose my song, 'We Need Love' as his next single and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. 

Now, I've taken my love for writing and my desire to help young people be the best version of themselves and created something that I hope will inspire a new generation to be a light in this world.
